New Jersey Monthly awarded Picnic, the Restaurant 3½ stars in their February 15, 2011 review. Restaurant critic Pat Tanner cites Picnic’s “seasonal American cuisine that is impeccable yet approachable” and compares Picnic, the Restaurant to actor Johnny Depp: “Like the charmingly roguish actor, the Fair Lawn bistro clicks on all cylinders all the time, thanks to serious dedication to craft. Depplike, it also has fun up its sleeve and a wink in its eye, as in its cheeky slogan, ‘Fine Fabulous Food,’ which, by the way, it lives up to. And, like the casual leading man, Picnic is youthful, attractive and exudes an air of joie de vivre.”

Writing on JerseyBites.com, Heidi Raker Goldstein declares Picnic, the Restaurant “a must-visit destination for those looking for creative, delicious offerings.” The review appeared on January 6, 2011.

In her December 1, 2010 Table Hopping with Rosie blog entry, New Jersey Monthly’s Rosie Saferstein observes that Picnic, the Restaurant “is one of the hottest tickets in NJ dining, with a three-week wait for a reservation on a Saturday night.” She goes on to ask, “Is it worth it?” and concludes, “In our opinion, a very definite yes.”

“Christine Nunn brings a special essence to every dish,” according to the November 7, 2010 Mano a Vino review.

Bob Probert, in his October 29, 2010 review for the Bergen Record, writes that “creativity and adaptability help define the Picnic experience.”

“The most notable newcomers on the restaurant scene include Picnic, the Restaurant in Fair Lawn,” states 201 Magazine Food and Entertainment Editor Susan Leigh Sherrill in her August 6, 2010 Table Talk blog entry. Susan Leigh Sherrill has more good things to say about Picnic in her Second Helpings column.

The Bergen Record’s Amy Kuperinsky notes “The gourmet and local mingle in Picnic’s entrées,” in her July 16, 2010 Starters column.

In his July 3, 2010 Off the Broiler column, Jason Perlow writes that “Christine has become a Bergen County superstar, and it’s all because of her cooking talent” and predicts that Picnic, the Restaurant “will become one of the premier fine dining destinations in Bergen County.” Jason also included a number of photos of Picnic.
